buzzzz

At the wax museum or was it Ripley's believe it or not, I cant remember, they had this giant static electricity ball. The flash on the camera made it look lame so we took a couple more with the flash off. Greg's belly was the best conductor as you can see by the bottom photo.

more anniversery

so after nine years here we are going to a wax museum. I cant tell you how much I love this guy! We even went to a car dealership and I got out of the car to face all the blood sucking salesman. True love right there.

happiness

I'm happy to say the garden is in full swing. Everything is blooming or producing. The flowers most of all. The mystery flower turned out to be bachelor buttons! Can you believe they are 4 ft. tall? Unfathomable The rows of sunflower plants grow at least 4-6 in. a day and several new birds have decided the back yard is a nice spot to stay.
Perhaps the reason gardening appeals so much to me is the quiet.Even if the kids are there enjoying it with me, they too seem a little more mellow. Mr. Steel follows behind picking up all the 'spent' flowers I pull up and replants them in his garden. Yesterday, I was watering and discovered his transplants were thriving.  During VBS I only have time in the AM for maintenance so if you happen to see a bleary eyed lady shuffling through the back yard don't call the cops.....its just me.

BTW  I have a few cucumber plants that need a home if anyone is interested in them.

Yeah I know..

You would think that deciding to change my background would spur me into blogging about life........*ahem* well It hasn't. Ever since camp, I have been running around like crazy! Don't worry I will get pictures up soon. Meanwhile, bask in the new background loveliness.

home again home again juggity jig

Our vaca was...lovely. Long summer days lounging with family watching my kids run their hearts out. Quiet evenings with all three passed out. *sigh*
On our way back we stopped by and saw more family topped off with a trip to a priettish sort of lake in Enumclaw. The three kids played and ran while I chatted it up with Lori and Jamie. Mr. Steel befriended his cousin Collin and they played on shore with sand toys.
This last week has been dedicated to sewing aprons for vbs and catching up on life. Not quite finished with that! There is so much to get back into the habit of doing. The urge to purge household items has taken hold. Beware end of hall closet! You are next!
My favorite yarn web sight is selling amazing hand painted sock yarn. Yes, I bought some! I need to keep my mind busy when Greg goes on his month long mission trip in the fall, hence the stocking up. Having him so far away does leave my heart a bit on empty but he comes back so refreshed that its worth every long lonely evening. I love him so much. He made me feel like a queen while I was gone. Here is the skinny.

I got a flat. No biggie, but defiantly not something I LIKE doing. He told me not to worry, he would take care of everything. So when I drove in to the tire place and they said, " You must be the lady who needs the back tires." my mouth only hung down a little. He literally took care of it ALL. The only thing I did was drive in and drive out. Hmmm, I love that man SO much.
Sharing him with the rest of the world? no prob. Although I might just end up knitting the worlds biggest sweater while he is away!

fun sunshine!

Swim lessons have been a real success. Not only is Thomas sticking his body in the water, he also dunks under and retrieves rings. All three have done such a great job, lets not forget mommy gets 25 minutes of Starbucks and sitting. Today we are going to walk to the pond and catch goldfish. Its wonderful to enjoy the outdoors without buckets of rain falling from the sky.
The kids are enduring Greg's absence well enough. Aside from the bedtime blues, "oh I WANT daddy." from Mr. Steel things have gone well. Mr. Steel is very attached to his daddy. I suppose that its because I don't speak man language. Could be that he connects with Greg on a wild level.
Other than Greg, I miss my garden. There is something so comforting about sitting in flowers, pulling weeds and nurturing life. My neighborhood friend told me I could have her plum tree. Yes, I was DRoOLing. When I get home I will find just the right spot to stick it. Whats that you say? Running out of room? Never!
